Self-defense

One of my biggest problems in the game is the near-constant attacks I've had to deal with, and the fact that I almost always lose. I once had hundreds of gold, then I wasn't online for a week and it was all gone when I got back online. It's really getting irritating, since I don't attack other people. Someone advised me to buy potions when I have spare gold, and then sell them to purchase gear, so that I won't lose money when I'm attacked. Thing is, I'm attacked even if I don't have money. I feel like a friggin' punching bag!

I know that there's nothing I can do to prevent people from attacking me, but I'd like to be able to defend myself adequately, so I don't lose gold everytime someone attacks me. Thing is, I don't know much about how the games work, what spells I should use, how much I should invest in my tower, etc.

Any help or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

About the tower - if you plan to be away from the game for some time, you won't be at work all the time, so the tower will protect when your status is 'ready'. Otherwise, if you plan to play all the time, the tower isn't a good idea because you won't be in it. When you're at school or at work, you're vulnerable to attacks and the tower doesn't protect you. Similar to you house in Monstersgame or whatever it's called.

Furthermore, if you want to level up more quickly, you should equip your weakest spells so you don't waste a lot of mana, and attack players who are +6 levels from you. You will lose 99% of the battles, but you will get 10 xp per battle.

If you go to work, equip your strongest spells so if someone attacks you, you have a chance to defend.

The battles are random, especially around the beginning, so don't expect everything to turn out as you plan or hope or even as it should be. You could attack someone stronger than you and beat them because they didn't have enough mana for instance.

The game is very diverse and there are lots of different outcomes for battles.

my guess is that you're weak for your level because you did not concentrate on learning one type of spells so i'm guessing that your spells don't make much damage. If you choose one type u get more and more powerful spells, and if you try to learn them all you need a lot of time just to learn the basic ones. it's still early in the game so you still have time to turn it around. choose one type and in no time you'll be winning and looting gold

My character's approximately level 11. Is that too late?

Here are all my spells, in the order I have them in my book:

Darkness: 3/3

Coldness: 1/3

Smoke: 1/3

Heat: 2/3

Dust: 3/3

Light healing: 3/3

I was kind of going for a jack of all trades, since I thought if I specialized in one element, people would just beef up their protections to that element and force me to resort to my other, weaker spells. Apparently my logic was flawed.

That sounds like a good idea. Who's this monelli891?

a really strong player. level 18. specialized in Earth spells. He casts spells 17 dmg, 15 dmg and 9 dmg...more then 100 damage per fight. Go to info center and look at the book of spells for earth

Thing is, I just bought a wand that increases my Shadow damage. Should I sell it?

no, that would be a waste of gold. than you can go with shadow spells. those are also very strong. I'll do my best to put list of wands by tomorrow so you can see what comes next if it helps.

Do you have any advice as to how I should work with my stats as well?

They're currently:

Intelligence: 13

Endurance: 13

Marksmanship: 12

Willpower: 12

I'm at level 11.

It's ok. You can buy things to improve int and marks. I recommend Bangle of concentration and Bangle of increased intelligence and also Amulet of the piercing gaze. It's better to buy that kind of stuff then to buy stuff that gives you defence bonus for certain spells. And if you have gems getting Refined ring of intelligence would be a good way to go, or a Sky blue hat of the air elementals. Anyways u get my point. stuff for int and marks.

I'm talking about levelling up. Should I just spread the points equally like I've been doing? Should I focus on one or two of them? If so, which ones?

I just sold my wand that boosts Shadow magic to buy one that increases my Marksmanship. Should I stick with Shadows or go with Earth instead?

It's a game, play by your own feeling, we can only give you guidelines on how the game works, but it would be silly if we played it for you. Have confidence in yourself.

that's true. You should make a pick. But choose between Shadow and Earth cos i think you said you have some spells from those already. Both of them are really great. I'd go with earth though. Cos there are a lot of people with shadow spells and i don't think we have anyone with earth. And that's a shame, cos i usually get most damage from people with earth spells.

I noticed that as well. I'm goin' with Earth. Besides, I'm not an evil kinda guy.

Now just stick to it and look at the book of spells for Earth in info center

I just levelled up and took my second Earth spell today! Took a helluva long time though. Curse those ten minute waits between battles!
